Our Sunday morning focus is worship.

At Heritage, we believe parents are the most important teachers in the life of their child. Children learn by watching and experiencing. We also understand that the decision to include children in worship is up to the individual parent.

Baby Bible (Infants – 2 Years Old)

CHILDREN ARE CHECKED IN THROUGH THE AGE-LEVEL CLASSROOM

This is a simple praise and teaching time for our youngest worshippers. The children sit (around 6 months of age) in a seat at a table with other children and a teacher. It is a hands on learning and singing time. The hold a Bible and sing and look at pictures of Jesus. At times simple or seasonal crafts are done with the children.

Preschool Praise (3 Years – Kindergarten)

CHILDREN CAN BE CHECKED INTO THE CLASSROOM OR ATTEND WORSHIP WITH THEIR FAMILY AND LEAVE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SERMON WITH THE OLDER CHILDREN

Interactive worship time with traditional pre-school Sunday School songs. During the ‘sermon’ time children are taught to sit and quietly and listen to a Bible story for 3-5 minutes. At the end of worship and ‘sermon’ time, the children play games and do crafts related to the Bible story that they heard.

Children’s Church (KindergarTen – 5th Grade)

CHILDREN SIT WITH THEIR FAMILY UNTIL THEY ARE DISMISSED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SERMON

Children attend worship with their family, then at the beginning of the sermon time, children are dismissed to CC. Children hear Bible teachings and learn about our faith.

In Addition…

We ask that ALL children be checked into our computer check-in system. Parents are given a security parent-pickup tag that corresponds to the child’s tag.

Older children who were dismissed from the 8:05 & 11:00 services will are returned during the last song to the sanctuary. At the 9:30 service we ask that parents pick up children in the Backyard due to the congestion in the hallway between services. If parents attend a discipleship class during one of the services, their children will sit with a Children’s Ministry staff/volunteer leader during that worship service.

Backyard Blast (2 Years – 3rd GRADE)

The focus of our Sunday evening ministry to children is Discipleship and Fellowship.

We have rotations of age level Bible teaching classes, children’s choir, games and crafts. Children need to be checked in at our computer check-in stations. Note: if parents attend a life group, children may be dropped off at 5:30 pm with a sack supper, and childcare for children aged 2 and under will be provided.

F.I.S.H. (4th – 5th Grade)

F.I.S.H. (Faithfully I Serve Him) is a fellowship and serving opportunity for 4th and 5th graders.

Activities are also scheduled during the summer. More information coming soon.

Timothy Team & Tiny Tims (2 Years – 5th Grade)

This is an in-depth, age-level Bible Study designed for children.

There are high standards for commitment, behavior and attendance. Our classes are intentionally small, usually 10 or less, and have 2 teachers. There is a registration deadline for the classes that begin in the fall.

We have a 5-year rotation of teaching:

• Genesis
• A Study of Moses
• Heroes of the Bible
• The Gospel of Luke
• Acts of the Apostles

Children are a gift from the Lord. We celebrate the additions of all babies into our family.

We believe that ministering to the very youngest is a high priority. We strive towards excellence in care of our children.

We believe that the nursery is the first experience that children can have with Jesus away from their family. It matters how they feel in our care and how we take care of them. We provide a nursery for all worship services and most Bible studies, as well as Sunday evenings for Life Groups.

The safety of our children is important to us.

We have a loving and trained staff. We follow Safe Sanctuary guidelines and background checks are done on our staff and volunteers.
