Raise my faith a little higher
Set my spirit on fire
Lord, we’re asking you to move
Cause You’re the God of restoration
The One who gives salvation
Lord, let revival come, let revival come

This is the chorus of a song I’ve been listening to the past few weeks.  It’s become more than a song to me though, it’s now a prayer.  After being in the Land of Revival (Pinar Del Rio, Cuba) for seven days I realized just how much I need revival in my spiritual life.  To see a people who have little to no material wealth but have the peace of God, a hunger for more of Him, a people whose worship is so pure and done with such freedom, made me question where my real focus is.  I can honestly tell you I didn’t like the answer to my question.

Webster’s definition of revival is “renewed attention to or interesting in something”.  That something for me is being the hands and feet of Jesus every day.  Whether that’s at home, work, grocery store or at church, I want to make Jesus real to those I encounter.

Revival isn’t an event that happens in a building.  Nor is It something that is short-lived.  It happens within each one of us and we must walk in it continuously.  The first thing we must have before revival can take place is a genuine desire for more of Him.

My prayer is LET REVIVAL COME to us as individuals so the church can experience revival that spreads through our communities, our state, our nation and the world.
